Hair carries more than we give it credit for — how we feel walking into a room, how we see ourselves in the mirror. When someone you love loses theirs, you feel it too.

Our story started with my mother, Milagros Gonzalez. She was dealing with a health condition that was quietly taking her hair along with it, and she didn’t complain. She just started mixing natural ingredients in our kitchen back in the Dominican Republic — coconut oil, aloe vera, rosemary oil, and a few others — a recipe she’d learned from her own mother.

She made a hair mask from it, and it worked. Soon it wasn’t just her using it; it was all of us. Family and friends asked what she was using and started using it too. For years, that’s all it ever was: a handcrafted recipe, passed around the whole family, long before it became a business.

Watching her get her confidence back alongside her hair is what changed things for me. I knew this wasn’t something I wanted to keep to ourselves. brought her recipe to a licensed cosmetics lab with one request: strengthen it, never replace it.
